Spycom Units

Spycom Units are available FREE of charge to people resident in North West Leicestershire, subject to availability. N.B. Spycom Units are not suitable for some UPVC double glazed doors.

The units have been funded by the Home Office Basic Command Fund in support of the North West Leicestershire Partnership in safer Communities Initiative.

Local agencies will refer to the Leicestershire North Neighbourhood Watch Association, the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of people who should receive a Spycom Unit, i.e. N.W.L.D.C. Housing Dept., Leicestershire County Council Social Services Dept., Leicestershire and Rutland Victim Support (North West Leicestershire Branch), Age Concern (Coalville and District), Leicestershire North Neighbourhood Watch Association members and Leicestershire Police.

Many people will be able to fit the units themselves, or they may have friends, neighbours or relatives who will do this for them. However, a fitting service has been negotiated with a local locksmith at a fixed rate of £11.75 including VAT per customer. The locksmith can be contacted on Tel:(01530) 831531. However this is not a restrictive arrangement, and persons may contact other locksmiths of their choice.

Those persons OVER 60 YEARS OF AGE may qualify for a free fitting service, provided by the HELP THE AGED HANDY VAN SCHEME.
