Welcome to Shepshed local policing unit

Shepshed local policing unit (LPU) covers over 20 parishes in the north of the county and borders both Derbyshire’s and Nottinghamshire’s policing areas. The main arterial routes of the M1 and M42 motorways also cut through the LPU.

A large percentage of the area is made up of rural farming communities although there are a number of towns and large villages including Castle Donington, Kegworth and Shepshed.

The Donington Park Race Circuit is located within the local policing unit and stages a number of events throughout the year including music festivals and the Motorcycle Grand Prix during the summer months.

The LPU is home to Nottingham East Midlands Airport, which has its own police presence supporting the security structure in operation there.

We provide a 24-hour policing service but there may be times when you need to go into a police station. Listed below is your local policing unit together with its usual opening times. Whilst we try hard to make sure that the opening hours are kept to there may be occasions when, due to operational reasons, it may be necessary to change them.

During opening hours all local stations can be contacted by calling (0116) 222 2222.

The Station is opened and run by Community Volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Police offices allow beat officers to spend more time on their beats without having to return to their stations to complete enquiries and paperwork. To further develop links with communities these offices also provide opportunities for residents to call in for advice or to discuss local issues.
