Welcome to Ashby local policing unit

Ashby local policing unit (LPU) covers a large geographical area of 129 square miles.

In addition to the market town of Ashby de la Zouch the LPU includes 27 villages having a total population in the region of 30,000. The policing unit is mainly rural and shares borders with Derbyshire, Warwickshire and the Coalville and Shepshed LPUs.

There are three main arterial routes, the A42, A511, and A453 feeding the town and surrounding villages. The area is regularly frequented by visitors from out of the area due to the number of tourist attractions on the LPU including Conkers, Moira Furnace, Ashby Castle, Staunton Harold and the Statutes fair which takes part in the town centre each year.

The area has good number of local amenities and leisure facilities including parks, leisure centres, golf courses, sports grounds and evening entertainment in the night-clubs or bars and restaurants.

We provide a 24-hour policing service but there may be times when you need to go into a police station. Listed below is your local policing unit together with its usual opening times. Whilst we try hard to make sure that the opening hours are kept to there may be occasions when, due to operational reasons, it may be necessary to change them.

During opening hours all local stations can be contacted by calling (0116) 222 2222.
