Getting the message

On Beats 13, 14 and 20 we operate with a mobile phone text message service.

Crime statists are released from the Neighbourhood Watch office each Monday and Thursday morning where details relating to Beat 14 are sent via a secure web-site to mobile phones in the form of a text message.

This message then appears in full, without delay, without loss of content or accuracy to each of the Scheme Co-ordinators.
They in turn can circulate this message to the members of their scheme.

It is not a two way message system but for the last two years has proved to be a very valuable and appreciated tool.

Whilst most people have a mobile phone already, for those scheme co-ordinators who do not have a set, one can be provided.

It does not cost anything to recieve the text messages.

Mobile numbers can be changed to allow for holidays etc.

If any information needs to be sent out at other times, our Beat Officer can send these at any time during his shift.
