» Leicestershire North NHWADetailed ResponsibilitiesBeat Cascade ManagerThe Beat Cascade Manager is the main contact between the Police and each of the schemes. Any important information can be channelled effectively from the Beat Officer, NW Office or Police directly around the schemes. As Beat Cascade Manager for Beat 13, a regular visit is made to the Police Station to get updates from the Police relating to our area. Where new schemes are set up the Cascade Manager will lead a discussion of residents what is involved for running a scheme together with the Beat Officer or member of the local community unit. Scheme Co-ordinatorEach Neighbourhood Watch scheme has a co-ordinator and a deputy who look after the running of their scheme. The co-ordinator will be the recipient of information supplied by the Police through the Loughborough Neighbourhood Watch office. In turn, it is expected that this information, when deemed relevant, is passed on to their scheme members. Each scheme has the oppertunity to send two representatives to a six weekly meeting held at the Police Station. A deputy is required in the event of holidays and the like. Scheme MemberAs a scheme member you will benefit on finding out what is actually happening. At the same time if you know of a crime and wish not to be directly involved you can pass on information via the above structure without the fear of reprisals. Being part of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme will allow, with some insurance companies, to reduce your home contents insurance. |
