Now here is a question.

Do you really want to be involved....tricky.

Well, not really a difficult question to answer.
It can only benefit you.

The only criteria for becoming involved with Neighbourhood Watch is for your wish to help in the prevention crime happening around you.
This is at home, your car, your work and at the same time look after your neighbour's interests.

Will it take lots of time ? . . . . No
Will it cost me money ? . . . . . No

It only takes one person to make the first move.

With each creation of a new Neighbourhood Watch scheme it really brings neighbours closer together.

How does it work ?

If you think you wish to set up a meeting to create a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your road, simply call the Leicestershire Police on 0116 222 2222 and tell them you wish to receive an information pack.
This will be sent to you from the Loughbrough Neighbourhood Watch office.

Upon reading the information, contact will be made by either the Beat Officer or the Beat Cascade Manager to answer any queries you might have at that time.

Then a notice is distributed to cover the potential range of the new scheme to check the interest in your road.
A general meeting is then set up to show all residents that wish to be involved with Neighbourhood Watch what is involved. Normally this is attended by both the Beat Officer and the Beat Cascade Manager.
If approved, a co-ordinator and deputy is appointed.
Their details are checked through the Police register and subsequently the scheme is registered through the Neighbourhood Watch Association.

The success of the scheme is then controlled by the enthusiasm of the members.
You will be supplied with up to date information relating to crimes. Also, any information relating to scams which are noticed across the region will be notified to you.
This information can then be passed on to ensure trouble and crime stays away from your area.

The Beat Cascade Manager will help with any queries anyone might have.

There is no control on how any co-ordinator should wish to run his or her scheme.
Don't forget this is a voluntary organisation relying on the good will of us all.

Neighbourhood Watch works.
Education and re-education works.
