What to do ?

When people know of a crime, this is seldom reported.

Why ?
Many reasons.
# Can't be bothered.
# Not knowing what to do.
# Fear of reprisals.
# Not wanting to get involved.
# Not wanting to appear in court to give evidence.

There are several ways on how to report crime.

The most important part is to be accurate in your desription of the event.
The more you can remember the better.
The earlier you write it down gives less chance of forgetting details.

Below is a form which can be used.
See literature section on how to obtain more copies.

When to report a crime or incident.

If the incident is happening call 999 immediately.
This is ranging from seeing a burglar in a house, to seeing damage being carried out.
It also referes to incidents where people are being threatened.

If you wish to remain totally annonymous. Call Crime Stoppers.
See link at the top left of this screen.

If you wish not to contact the police direct, contact your Neighbourhood Co-ordinator or their deputy.
The Beat Cascade Manager can also help.
They will forward your information to the Police and if you wish to remain annonymous, than this will be handled in this matter.

Report any incident at the earliest opportunity.

To recall an incident which you thought happened some time ago, but not sure when or where is not going to help resolve the crime.
