Anstey

This neighbourhood beat covers the large village of Anstey.
The beat is primarily residential but also encompasses a thriving shopping centre, four public houses and three schools. There are also several new housing developments in the village.

“I have been a Police Officer for nearly 26 years and for the past 12 years have been based at Quorn and Syston Police Stations which collectively now form part of the Charnwood Local Policing Unit. This has enabled me to establish strong links with partner agencies and local community groups across this policing area.

In my new role as Neighbourhood Management Sergeant I have a key part to play in delivering Neighbourhood Policing in the various local communities we serve in this area as well as having a supervisory responsibility for all ten beat teams that currently operate at the Local Policing Unit.”

Recent development.

A new NHW has been set up on Link Road. Four brand new NHW signs have been erected advising those passing the area that residents are crime prevention aware for them and their neighbours.

With the co-operation of local residents CCTV cameras are used to monitor anti-social behaviour.
Evidence made available to Police and Anstee NHW.

Residents actively involved in tackling anti-social behaviour by removing grafiti left on a phone box.

With the setting up of the new NHW scheme, the impact was felt almost immediately as incidents deminished.
