East Goscote Neighbourhood Watch has been in existence for almost 14 years, at present there are over 50 Street Contacts covering over 900 homes. We have an excellent communication “network” in most cases messages and warnings are received by all Street Contacts within 4 hours.

East Goscote Parish Council support the watch both financially and by helping with any photocopying that we might need from time to time.

We are looking for Contacts in the following areas- Long Furrow numbers (2-48) (178-206) (163-207) Lingdale, Clover Walk, Foxglove Close, Fleury Court, Forresters Row, and all of Nursery Views.

Rearsby

Rearsby's scheme has existed in part since 1991. This developed naturally by 1994 into a single scheme for the whole village, comprising 400 homes with 25 co-ordinators.

The scheme is sub-divided into groups, each about 25 strong for quick passage of news. Membership is automatically extended to all households.
Newssheets are not produced but a village newsletter includes a Watch section. Noticeboards and personal contact complete the dissemination of information.

The Watch is underwritten by the Parish Council, who it encourages the work of the Watch. The beat bobby attends council meetings if possible, or he submits a written report. The Council has appointed one councillor to the SE Charnwood Crime and Safety Panel.
