The neighbourhood beat covers the villages of Ibstock, Ellistown, Heather and Battram and includes Sense Valley Park, which is part of the New Forest and Ibstock brick quarries.

Ibstock - Chapel St, Church View, Melbourne Road, Sunnyside Estate, Valley Road.

Heather - Cotsmore Close, Holyoake Drive, Swepstone Road, Marston Way, Station Terrace, The Rookery.

Ellistown - Beveridge Lane, Midland Road, Whitehill Road.

PC Roy Houghton has worked for Leicestershire Constabulary since 1992. He has been the local beat bobby since 2000.

2009 Spring/Summer Priorities
> To reduce anti social behaviour in the area of South Street, Ellistown. In particular underage drinking and motorcycle
nuisance.
> To introduce and promote 'No Calling Zones' with the target being four new zones to be established.

He spends a great deal of his time with people and organisations on his beat, which particularly involves dealing with a great number of young people. He has a good relationship with the local schools and he lives in the community he serves.

He supports and values the contributions of the local Neighbourhood Watch schemes, and is always encouraging residents to become involved in new watch schemes.

When not walking, PC Houghton uses a marked police vehicle to patrol his beat. Feel free to stop and speak with him during his patrol.
