Superbikes - 25 & 26th Sept

These two days were a success for the Volunteers. The Saturday practice session for the bikers was only modestly attended.
This allowed the volunteers to bring across the message of security in more detail.
The campsite was visited and a great response from the public ensured that crime was kept to a minimum.

An interesting lack of security was shown by the participating teams.
Visiting empty, open garages, tents and trailers evidence of left tools, bike parts at unthinkable prices were left available for any potential thief.
Even motor cycles were left with keys still in their ignition.

Volunteers had words with neighbouring participants asking them to look after their neighbours.
Messages were left asking owners to look after their stuff.

Lots of items were marked with utlraviolet marker pens. From mobile phones to CD players, generators and other personal items large and small. Loads of pens given out for people to mark proprty at home.
This ensures that in the event of something being stolen the culprit found with it will be held accountable why it was in their posession.
The more we mark the less desirable the items become.

An apology to a family who kindly allowed us to make a photo of their son security marking a mobile phone. Due to camera failure the picture was lost. Sorry.
